Your Promises

i can name a few television evangelists whose "sound" is not the sound doctrine i need.  i'd rather listen to the sound of children's screaming in the playground.  i thank the Lord for His promise to give me His presence and His power that is vastly superior to my own strength.  He promised to give me my provision which now is more that enough.  He promises to give me protection from my enemies whose weapons they've formed against me--weapons that shall not prosper--whose every tongue lifted against me in judgment He condemns, yet, every ounce of righteousness i'll ever have comes from Him.  There's no way i could ever muster up one iota of righteousness by my own smelly and filthy rags.

Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches          but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy.  Let them do good that they be rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share, storing up for themselves a good foundation for the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life. -[1 Timothy 6: 17-19]

He promised me that if i ask in His name, then i shall receive, whether i realize it or not.  My joy is indeed fulfilled.  Lord, all these things You've provided me.  You've promised in Your Word and i trust You will do, have done all of these things in my life; though, as frail and faulty as i am, i may have forgotten.  You're patient, longsuffering ways earn You all the praise and must never be credited to anyone, especially those who reject You, Your Word, and who are so puffed up with themselves.  i cannot judge, as i have been most guilty for being one who was puffed up myself.
