Ode To Us Worldly Fools!
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, 4 just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, 5 having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, 6 to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He [a]made us accepted in the Beloved. -[Ephesians 1: 3-6]
How many times have i said to myself, "Why can't more people be like me?" Rather than focusing on what others want me to be, i need to start asking You, Lord, what do You want me to be? If You want me to change and be of service to You and others, then Your will--not mine--be done. i know i've been so guilty of being so selfish and self-centered and then i have the audacity to get upset when i see someone else being selfish and self-centered. Ode to us worldly fools!
Somebody could easily say to me, and you call yourself a Christian! i need to remember that Your creation exists to bring Your glory! Not mine. Lord, make me ever mindful of the wants and needs of others. If You're calling me to release someone in my life, i mustn't try to change that person. i must immediately release people at the moment of offense. i have forgiven in my heart my brother's trespasses. i thank You, Jesus, for stopping the torture of sleepless nights. i forgive those who tend to have malice aforethought. There are so many here among me now. Any sense of calm i have comes from You and i shall declare Your praise. i release them through Your name of any charges. Thank You, YAH, for leading me out of a life of torment and defeat. In Jesus' name. Amen
