So What If I Take The Long Way Home Tonight?

Paul's thorn could've been failing eyesight.  What then was the blessing you enjoyed?  For I bear you witness that, if possible, you would have plucked out your own eyes and given them to me. --[Galatians 4:15] Perhaps God has given me those "thorns" to keep me humble so i can fulfill His purposes, not mine.  My purposes have been misguided for decades.  A pack of wolves are gathered outside the library right now yet the sheep that i am has no heart palpitations, nor am i breaking out in a sweat, nor am i taken aback or surprised when some "danger stranger" tries to intimidate me on the street when he's so strung out, so stoned out of his mind.  Perhaps someone's gun will be my key to the kingdom one day down at the bus hub.

Even though i have been aware of the dangers and the signs along the way, i still made wrong decisions.  i should have waited before crossing streets or i should have gone a different route on my way to the library.  i'm not in a hurry.  i'm retired.

So what if i take the long way home tonight?  i have plenty of time to catch my bus.  i am Your sheep and i hear Your voice, and You know me. - [John 10:27]   It's nice being reminded about You knowing my past, present, and future; and , though i may not have deserved Your protection, You were there long enough that i need not worry--then or again--my mind is filled with being in the palm of Your hand as i go about my day today.
