Why Are People Reluctant To Call Anyone Named Timothy Timothy!

Confucious says that calling things by their proper name is the beginning of wisdom.  So i'm beginning to conclude that too many people with whom i'm surrounded lack wisdom.  The other day a fellow employee stopped and looked right at my name badge that says Timothy and deliberately proclaimed, Tim!  It was as though he were telling me he wasn't going to call me by the name i preferred, that it was too presumptuous of me to expect anyone to do so.  How high and mighty of me to expect anyone to call me a three-syllable name when they could use a one syllable name.  Such an imposition on anyone!  So i began to google the name Timothy and to see why people are reluctant to call anyone named Timothy Timothy!

Couldn't really find anything and i'm not about to speculate on the reason.  I noticed in my search that Timothy means "God's Honor."  Maybe in a secular society that is too much to refer anyone by a name that means that because the object of honor and desire in these last days is anything but godly and righteous.  Timothy is the name my wonderful parents gave me, yet i'm aware it is not my God-given name.  That's to come and i can't wait until i receive my white stone with my new name written on it--[Revelation 2:17]

Even to them I will give in My house And within My walls a place and a name Better than that of sons and daughters; I will give them an everlasting name That shall not be cut off. --[Isaiah 56:5]

That's exactly what my coworker did.  He cut my name off!  How rude! Seriously, i'm over it because the Word points out that i will be given a unique God-given name which He will do to countless others who have been overcomers.  Jesus must be at the very center of everything i do, including the decisions i make to rebuild and proceed through my process of repentance.  On this continuing journey there will be ongoing temptation and spiritual battles.
